Criminal Defense

It is important that a person arrested invoke the right to have an attorney present for questioning. Do not answer police questions without an attorney and if you have made the mistake of talking to the police, it is important to call our offices immediately

We have extensive experience defending the rights of people arrested and accused of criminal offenses at every stage of the case starting with the arrest. From the time we are retained as your legal representative, we begin preparing for trial. Our firm has years of experience dealing with arraignments, discovery, and preliminary hearings. We keep abreast of current legal developments so that we can draft persuasive motions to suppress evidence and other pre-trial motions. We are skilled negotiators who will plea-bargain if it is in your best interest and after we obtain your informed consent. But, we are prepared to go to trial and vigorously defend you when that is in your best interest. Our firm represents clients in the following areas:

Violent Offenses including assault, battery, burglary, domestic violence, murder, vehicular manslaughter, stalking, manslaughter, kidnapping, robbery, arson, carjacking, and hit and run.

White Collar Offenses including embezzlement, perjury, fraud, money laundering, larceny, wire fraud, mail fraud, bankruptcy fraud, theft, forgery, credit card fraud, counterfeiting, RICO claims, extortion, internet theft, computer crimes, including computer hacking, computer theft, and computer fraud.

Sex Offenses including rape, child molestation, indecent exposure, possession of child pornography, sexual battery, rape, lewd conduct, spousal rape, statutory rape, internet sex offenses, and sex offender registration.

Drug/Controlled Substance Offenses including trafficking, distribution, possession, transportation, possession for sale, marijuana cultivation, and manufacturing.

Felony and Misdemeanor Traffic Offenses including Drunk Driving (DUI) and Driving Under the Influence of Narcotics.

Drunk Driving / DWI / DUI

In today's society, a vehicle is a necessity. Our goal is to protect your right to own and operate a vehicle. The first line of defense is to challenge the reason that you were stopped. There are bad stops! There are many things that you need to do before appearing in front of a judge. We know what these things are and we strongly urge you to move quickly and contact my firm if you have been arrested or cited for a traffic offense. If it is your first arrest, the goal is make sure that you can continue driving. For second offenses, the goal is often to keep you out of jail and able to continue providing for your family. Our firm will get you the best shot at being able to continue driving and avoiding jail time. But you must move quickly. We also assist clients who have had their driver's license revoked.

Traffic Violations

Traffic tickets can have serious consequences. While most tickets are "violations," some traffic tickets are criminal charges. A license suspension can happen when a driver receives several minortickets or, in some cases, one serious ticket. A conviction of a traffic offense will result in fines and possibly points against your license. In addition, your insurance company may increase your rates. You have a right to cross-examine the witness against you (usually the police officer). An experienced attorney is best equipped to handle cross-examination and increase the odds of successfully defending the charges against you.
